“Is this not the fast that I have chosen: To loose the bonds of wickedness, To undo the heavy burdens, To let the oppressed go free, And that you break every yoke? (Isaiah 58:6)
The start of a new year is an opportunity God gives to align our lives to His will and purpose, so we can see His blessings. We are living in such dark times, that if we do not start the year with prayer and fasting, we will not be spiritually prepared to overcome adversity. Jesus Himself encourages His disciples to fast and pray so they would not lose heart, cave in, become weary and give up (Luke 18:1).
Fasting is a spiritual discipline that every follower of Jesus ought to engage in. Fast on behalf of your church, yourself and family in order to move forward in your faith and to see God’s presence, power and breakthrough in your life. This time of prayer and fasting will empower you, destroy the works of the evil one and prepare you for your blessings during the year. Certain things that are standing in your way for success, or wearing you out cannot come out except by prayer and fasting, so get fully on board!
The 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting begins on Saturday 4 January and ends on Friday 24 January with Prayer Service at 7:00pm.
