COVID-19 Updates

Please check here for regular updates concerning Sunday services and Discipleship Classes at South Street Baptist Church.

Following the easing of the COVID-19 restrictions in England, on Monday 19 July, churches are permitted to continue meeting for worship services without social distancing or capacity restrictions. The ease of restrictions also includes congregational singing; the number of people permitted on stage; baptisms, and there is no longer a requirement to collect details for Track and Trace purposes.

In line with government guidance, which was updated on Friday 10 December 2021, the following changes will be implemented at SSBC:

(i) Wearing of facial covering/mask is now a requirement by law for indoor settings, including places of worship. Exceptions apply for those who are exempt from wearing a facial covering for medical reasons, and those ministering from stage. The government have granted permission for the congregation to remove facial coverings when singing, however, it is encouraged to remain wearing them.
(ii) Maintaining a 2 metre social distance in Church is no longer a requirement and remains a personal choice.
(iii) Those who wish to maintain social distanced seating will have the option of sitting in the balcony during services.
(iv) When ministering to people, those praying will be required to wear a facial covering/mask.
(v) On entry to the Church, hand sanitising or washing of hands will continue for the foreseeable future.
(vi) We commit to continue cleaning all touch points after services, as well as fogging the building after use.
(vii) If you feel unwell or have symptoms of COVID, we ask that you do not attend Church, but stay home to protect the safety of others and prevent the spread of the virus. Sunday Services will continue to be live streamed on YouTube for those who are unable to physically come into the church building. Subscribe to our YouTube channel and click the bell icon to be notified of uploads.
(viii) We will continue to carry out health and safety Risk Assesments, including COVID-19, taking reasonable steps to mitigate any risk identified.
(ix) We will continue to review the restrictions in line with future government guidelines. Click here to read all government updates concerning places of worship.

PASTORAL CARE

The Pastors, leaders and Watchmen (prayer and intercession team) of SSBC are on standby to pray and support you if you are anxious or affected by the outbreak of COVID-19. We care about you and love you, so don’t feel alone. Please contact us to let us know about your situation and we will get back to you as soon as possible. We want you to know that you are not just a number to us in this church, but highly valued and loved.

Finally, I will leave you with this bible verse as the Lord will speak to us;

'Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.' Isaiah 41:10 (NASU)
